Annual Luncheon

A Better World’s luncheon serves as an annual opportunity for fundraising, awareness-building, and networking. This gathering not only provides a platform for direct donations from attendees, but also allows for new community partnerships as we invite civic leaders, peer organization founders, and the faith community to collaborate with us.  Through keynote speeches and testimonials, we introduce the need for holistic educational programming  to audience members while highlighting our achievements in addressing this need. Acting as a connecting point in which stakeholders and new supporters are brought together, our luncheon fosters a more informed and engaged supporter base united in a shared mission to move at-risk youth forward.

Annual End of Summer Trip

Each year, A Better World hosts an annual trip at the close of its summer camp program. A reward for our students’ dedication to working hard through the summer months, our annual trip offers a safe and supportive environment where students are relieved from the challenges they may face at home or in their communities. Allowing them to explore new places and experiences that broaden their perspectives, A Better World’s annual trips inspire creativity and spark a sense of curiosity which are essential for personal development. Finally, these trips often involve structured activities that promote social skills and cooperation. This helps students build stronger relationships with their peers and educators as they create positive memories that last a lifetime.

Back to School Distribution Event

Additionally, access to supplies boosts students’ confidence as they avoid the stigma of lack and instead feel prepared and motivated to learn

Annual Golf Tournament

A Better World’s charity golf tournament is an anticipated annual event that blends sport and philanthropy to raise awareness for our mission. Each year, the tournament attracts a diverse group of participants including dedicated supporters, local businesses, and golf enthusiasts united in a common goal to drive positive change. Funds raised through this tournament are instrumental in supporting the sustainability of our programs.

Thanksgiving Distribution Drive

For many families facing financial difficulties, the holiday season can be a source of stress and anxiety. A Better World alleviates this burden through its annual Thanksgiving distribution event. In the month of November, each student enrolled at A Better World receives a family holiday meal kit for preparation at home. This initiative helps children to experience a sense of normalcy and inclusion as they participate in cultural celebrations the same as their peers without the overshadowing reality of scarcity. Additionally, our students’ awareness of a community that cares for them and their families can help to increase their self-esteem and sense of security which contributes to their overall emotional resilience and mental health.

Christmas Distribution Event

Each year, A Better World supports the mental and emotional well-being of our students by relieving their parents of holiday season pressure. With the generous support of our donors, we cultivate a sense of inclusion for our students as we ensure that they too experience the joy of the holiday season. In the months of November and December, our students write short wishlists and donors work with us to fulfill their wishesDonors have an opportunity to meet our students and their families at our end-of-year Christmas distribution event and party, and the excitement and anticipation leading up to the event offer at-risk youth a welcome break from daily stresses. Likewise, as children partake in the event, they experience feelings of joy, gratitude, community connection, three positive contributors to emotional health.
